Our Story
Everest Art Gallery was founded in Nepal in 1996 with the sole objective of making contributions towards a sustained growth and development of Nepalese arts and bringing to light the Nepalese artists.
The objectives would be guided by the social norms and values that would ensure the artists’ rights and dignity. Methodologically speaking, the Gallery aims to unite and integrate under a single umbrella, all the professional well-known artists as well as the upcoming resolute, devoted and dynamic young artists working continuously for the development of Nepalese art and culture. It aims to provide a forum to promote and foster mutual understanding between the artists of varied thoughts, ideas and modalities of creation by developing a congenial atmosphere for the encouragement of the artists. For this purpose, the gallery provides a common platform for the artists to work in a secure and free working environment.
Since the establishment of the Gallery, we have been working for the all round development of the Nepalese arts and culture and the creation of distinctive images of Nepal in the realms of art in the global and local contexts. In order to promote and encourage artists by exposing and highlighting their artworks at the international market, we have provided space free of cost within the gallery premises located at Bansbari Road, Kathmandu which is incidentally the most popular tourist spot in Nepal, where all the artists can display their selected artworks for sale and exhibition within the gallery’s terms and conditions. Besides, activities such as art exhibitions, workshops, interactions and talk programs at the national and international levels are organised frequently to promote the artists and their artworks. From time to time, the Gallery also conducts major programs and events to felicitate and honour the truly dedicated and devoted artists for their remarkable contributions in the development of Nepalese art and culture.
Everest Art Gallery always aims to build national and international network by joining hands with the government and non-government organizations with programmes for the growth and development of art. We seek and welcome opportunities to interact, share experiences and exchange art programs with different national and international art galleries, museums and art associations for mutual benefit and development of art and culture.
As part of its social responsibility, the Gallery has also been working in affiliation with the local community based NGO’s for the benefit of the underprivileged and the marginalized groups with major focus on children working as child labour in hazardous sectors of Nepal. The Gallery has been providing sponsorship, conducting art trainings and workshop for raising the living standard of the working children.
We feature a wide variety of paintings with different themes and subjects in almost every media, style and technique done by various professional and prominent artists of Nepal. We have now a collection of artworks executed at different times and moments of inspiration by more than one hundred well-known and young artists of Nepal. Since its inception, the Gallery has been dealing with the National and International Art Galleries, Museums, Art Dealers, Art Collectors and individual art lovers. To cover a wide section of the audience from all over the world we promote the Nepalese arts and artists at the international art market. In addition to that, we have also initiated our gallery website. All the viewers can get the latest updates on the Gallery’s activities and events, as well as make online inquiry of artworks from the gallery’s database of the latest collection and stocks of artworks.
